Whole Foods Market Recalls Red Lentil Dal

If you shop at Whole Foods, you might want to double check if you have recently bought some red lentil dal.

According to KTLA 5, Whole Foods Market has recalled their red lentil dal due to potential listeria contamination. The dal contains a pickled curry cauliflower that is actually being recalled by Doux South Specialties for a potential contamination according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The listeria monocytogenes is an organism that causes serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly, and those who have weakened immune systems. Some of the symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

If you have the Market Red Lentil Dal in a 12 oz. plastic tray, you might need to check the codes here and head to the store for a full refund.
