Kim Kardashian recently made friends with a faceless robot and recorded the entire interaction for the world to see.
The SKIMS founder spent a few minutes with Tesla's new Optimus robot on Monday (November 18) afternoon, attempting to discover its functions.
The humanoid, created to perform "unsafe, repetitive or boring tasks," per Tesla's website, was designed to mimic the exterior of an actual human being. The robot's face is a clear screen and its chest plate features the word "Tesla" scribed across the front.
In the video, Kardashian enjoyed a one-on-one experience with the bot, as she and the machine exchanged friendly waves. The SKKN mogul then made half a heart with her hand, and, to her utter disbelief, Optimus completed the shape.
"Can you do this, I love you...Oh! You know how to do that!"
After the shock subsided, Kardashian asked the robot what they should do next and it insinuated they go for a run by moving its arms back and forth. Unable to make up its mind, Optimus immediately started hula dancing. The extremely realistic bot calmly stood next to Kardashian as she ended the interesting clip.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed unsettling details about Optimus in a post shared to X, the same day Kardashian interacted with the robot, sharing that AGI technology could be smarter than humans in just 24 months and that he expects the product to be extremely popular.
"I think probably everyone is going to have an Optimus...maybe more than one." The billionaire went on to list the expected price of the robot as somewhere between "$20,000 to $30,000."
