For most of my life, Saturday Night Live has been one of my favorite shows...although at our house, it's more like "Sunday Morning Recorded" than Saturday Night Live. This past weekend's show served as the season 47 finale and, according to Deadline, was the final show for some of the cast's biggest stars.
According to the report, longtime cast members Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Moony, and Pete Davidson are leaving the show. With the exception of Moony, they've all gotten pretty famous and are looking at tons of work in movies and new shows. Creator and big boss Lorne Michaels has been more loose with the cast in the past few years, allowing them to miss shows to work on other projects. Keenan Thompson, for example, the longest running member of the show, has also had a sitcom on NBC for the past few seasons.
I'm bumbed, these are my favs...time for a new group to step up, get too famous, and leave the show.
