Ja Rule Teases He Might Try Fyre Festival Again

Hold the phone! Ja Rule might not be being giving up on the disastrous Fyre Festival just yet. The rapper told TMZ on Thursday, February 14, that he wants to attempt the most-iconic-music-festival-that-never-was again.

It all came about after TMZ asked Ja Rule about the headline-making documentaries centered around the failed festival on both Netflix and Hulu as he was passing through LAX.

"It's not funny to me, man, it's heartbreaking to me,” Ja told TMZ, sharing he hasn’t watched the docs. “It was something that I really, really wanted to be special and amazing, and it just didn't turn out that way.”

That said, Ja teased it’s not over.

“But, you know,” he continued. “In the midst of chaos, there's opportunity, so I'm working on a lot of new things."

One venture that still lives on is Ja’s platform called Icon, which allows people to book musical acts for their events, similar to the Fyre app that the festival was supposed to help launch.

"It is kind of similar to what the [Fyre] app was," Ja admitted. "But you have to understand the app was separate from the festival. Different teams working on the app than the festival, and the whole nine."

So will the Fyre Festival ever really happen?

"It is the most iconic festival that never was," Ja agreed, before teasing: "I have plans to create the iconic music fest, but you didn't hear it from me!" he quipped.

In case you missed the drama, you can watch both docs on the Fyre Festival on Netflix and Hulu, which showcase the production of the event and ultimate downfall of founder Billy McFarland, who scammed ticket buyers, his own employees and investors.
