It's the end of another Bennifer era…at least in the eyes of the law. Although Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in last August, the court had still considered them married until now. The Los Angeles County Superior Court has officially finalized their divorce on February 21st, restoring the power couple’s single status. Due to California law, the dissolution couldn’t take effect until six months after filing, despite the two reaching a settlement in January.
The couple first got together in the early 2000s, got engaged, and then famously called it off before rekindling their romance nearly two decades later. They tied the knot in July 2022, but cracks reportedly started showing less than a year later, leading to Lopez’s divorce filing. Court documents also reveal Lopez has dropped Affleck as her legal name, and that neither will pay spousal support.
