While women may have been “looking for a man in finance” last year, it’s time for the finance bros to step aside because another career is now considered the most attractive. According to a new survey, health care is the hottest career of 2025.
Dating app The League polled 1,000 single men and 1,000 single women across the country to find the most dateable professions of the year:
- Both men and women agree that people in health care make the best partners (29%).
- When it comes to specific jobs, 26% say doctor is the most attractive career overall.
- Nearly half (44%) of those surveyed want a partner whose career ambition is the same as their own, while 34% would prefer someone who’s even more ambitious.
- More than half (56%) say it’s important for their partner to have the same career values they do.
- When it comes to salary, 39% are looking for someone they can be an equal “breadwinner” with.
- So, when is the ideal time to have the “career conversation” with potential partners? For 22%, that talk about work values, goals and aspirations happens before even going on a first date.
- Once they’re actually on that first date, they mention their job within the first hour, at minute 54, on average. But 18% bring up their job within the first half hour.
- But the career focus isn’t only about money, as 40% want their potential partner to have a passion for their work and 34% hope they prioritize work/life balance.
