Justin Baldoni has filed a lawsuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of attempting to destroy his career and that they tried to take over his film “It Ends With Us.” The lawsuit alleges that Lively seized creative control of the film, defamed Baldoni, and orchestrated a smear campaign against him after accusing him of sexual harassment.
“She set out to destroy Plaintiffs’ livelihoods and businesses if they did not bend to her incessant demands, and when they refused to give way, she did exactly that, accusing them of foul and reprehensible sexual misconduct,” the suit alleges. Baldoni is seeking a trial by jury…and asking for $400-million in damages. Lively and Reynolds are accused of civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy.
Lively’s team has hit back at the lawsuit, calling it a page out of an “abuser playbook.” They add “this is an age-old story...A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim.” This is just the latest in a long-running feud between Baldoni and Lively, with trouble seemingly beginning during production of “It Ends With Us,” which came out in August last year.
