Halsey is stirring up excitement for their upcoming, untitled album by giving fans a look at their process, including the sad revelation that they thought it could be the last album they could make amid they serious health battles.

The "Bad at Love" singer recently answered some fan questions on X (formerly Twitter) about their next album, including one query about whether the new era will be like 2020's Manic and "have mixed genres" or if it will be "more cohesive." The project will be Halsey's fifth studio album and a follow-up to 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power.

"all over the place," Halsey responded, before revealing that the creative process was influenced by their health struggles. "when I started writing it, I thought it might be the last album I ever got the chance to make. so I tried to do whatever I'd been wanting to do, but hadn't tried yet ⭐️."

Halsey added in another post that they "wrote a lot about what I was going through" and that will be showcased on throughout the album, per People.

"I felt like I couldn't tell anyone, though it was mostly my choice to not," she said. "but the weight of it all and looking at my life wondering if I was happy with who I was. While simultaneously changing against my will. more on that later lol."

The MaXXXine star revealed in June that she is "lucky to be alive" after battling multiple secret illnesses over the last two years, sharing that she was diagnosed in 2022 with Lupus as well as a "rare" T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Halsey later addressed their gratitude for fans' support after her announcement, saying that "after a rocky start," their conditions are "under control" and are either "being managed or in remission."

While we don't know when the album will be released, or what it will be called, Halsey's new single "Lucky" will drop July 26.
