Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Shares First Photo After Prison Release

WE tv's "Marriage Bootcamp Reality Stars'" Premiere Party

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino looks happy to be home again.

After completing his eight-month sentence for tax evasion, the Jersey Shore alum was released from the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York, on Thursday morning (September 12). No one was happier to see the reality star than his wife, Lauren — and their dog, Moses — with whom the reality star celebrated his new-found freedom on Instagram later that afternoon.

“Living my best life with my beautiful wife @lauren_sorrentino @themoseyworld,” Mike wrote with a delightful picture from the family’s living room, as Lauren followed suit with the same photo, captioning her post with, "Welcome home honey."

“We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life,” the pair told PEOPLE in a statement in the wake of Mike’s release. “Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort. We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!"

As fans know, the Sitch pled guilty back in January 2018. He was sentenced the following October — along with brother Marc, who received two years behind bars — with two years of supervised release before marrying his college sweetheart on November 1.

As previously reported, the Jersey Shore cast was present for Mike’s release, which will reportedly appear on the upcoming third season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation.
