Cardi B Will Make Her Movie Debut As A Stripper In Film With Jennifer Lopez

Cardi B's life has truly come full circle.

The "Please Me" rapper, who worked as a stripper before making it big as an artist, is set to make her big screen debut in the film Hustlers, which, ironically, is all about former strippers banding "together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients."

The film, which was inspired by the 2015 viral New York Magazine article about a group of women conning the men they once served, also features Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Julia Sties, Mercedes Ruehl and Jennifer Lopez, who is set to play the ringleader of the band of ladies.

"I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women," Hustlers director Lorene Scafaria said of the A-list cast, per The Hollywood Reporter. "We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast and can’t wait to start filming at the end of the week." Lorene is especially excited to work with the one-and-only J. Lo. "There is no other actor who could embody this raw and dynamic character with such complexity, humanity and, intelligence. It's always been her. She's f**king Jennifer Lopez," she gushed.

So what can fans expect from the Robin Hood-like film? Well, Lorene said it's all about women breaking the misogynistic rules of the world. "The film is an empathetic look at women and men, our gender roles, what we’re valued for, what we’ve been told is our value in every movie, TV show, every corner of culture. Men have been told they're worth the size of their bank accounts," Lorene explained. "Women have been told they’re worth the symmetry of their faces, their bodies, their beauty, and that’s what this film is based on. The rules of the club are the rules of the world."

Hustlers begins filming in New York on Friday (March 22).
