On street parking in Madison might get more pricey

Officials are considering increasing street parking from $28 to $42...which is a yearly cost. It's not a terrible increase, but students and residents who budget might see a difference.

This increase would let residents park on the street longer in specific time zones. If this is approved by City Council and the Transit and Parking Commission, it would go in affect September 1st.

So if you live downtown, on the west side, or east side, and you want to park on the street, I would recommend grabbing your permit now before the increase.
