John Cena Declares Love for Nikki Bella Post-Split, Now Wants Kids

John Cena has taken a hard look at himself in the mirror after his fiancĂ©e Nikki Bella called off their engagement. The pro wrestler-turned-actor joined Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb as a special guest co-host on Monday, May 14, and declared his love for Nikki and explained why he’s changed his mind about wanting children.

“It’s up and it’s down
it’s been incredibly reflective which is amazing, but it’s very difficult
I’ve had my heart broken out of nowhere
but I’ve looked at myself everyday and I’ve tried to evaluate myself and the woman that I love and for anyone out there speculating
I still love Nicole,” he shared. “I still would love to marry Nicole. I still would love to have a family with Nicole. There was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended
I was supposed to be married and have a honeymoon over these two weeks
 I don’t want anybody else
I love Nicole and I’m really trying to support her in trying to find whatever it is she wants that made this fall apart in the first place.”

Cena continued that over the course of their six-year long relationship, he’s become less selfish.

“Slowly over time, this woman stole my heart,” he explained. “She’s my No. 1 so I’m willing to go back on all these things I said [like not wanting kids]
it took a strong look in the mirror to be like ‘Why?’ This person is my No. 1 and it’s something that’s very valuable to her and of course we can do this and I think it’ll be wonderful.”

As previously reported, Cena and Nikki announced via a joint statement last month that they were calling it quits on their relationship and planned nuptials.

"After much contemplation and six years of being together Nikki Bella and John Cena announced today their decision to separate as a couple,” a rep told E! News at the time.

The couple also released a joint statement which read: "While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives. "

Season 3 of their reality show, Total Bellas, premieres on Sunday, May 20 at 9 p.m., and they’ll both have to relive the split on TV.

"I have to say it's going to be definitely very hard to relive and it's hard to document it, but at the same time, the Bella Army has been on this incredible journey with John and I and you know all the viewers at E! and I feel like I would be cheating them if I was to take away all that footage because it's real life,” Nikki told E! over the weekend. “We go through these ups and downs and we wedding plan — we could be on cloud nine, but then sometimes it makes you just face a lot of things that are going on in your life and you truly see that this season. ... I think a lot of people are going to be able to relate to it. I think it's going to also give a lot of people courage and bravery to speak up. I think sometimes we go through things because we're like, 'Ok, this is what we need to do. It's too late.' It's never too late to make a decision."
