Avicii's Brother Is On The Hunt For Answers In Oman

News of Avicii's death on Friday (April 20) shocked his family so much that it has prompted an investigation by the EDM heavyweight's older brother, David Bergling, in Oman to uncover the reason for his sibling's passing.

TMZ reported that Bergling checked into an upscale hotel in the capital city of Muscat on Friday evening just hours after news of Avicii's death hit the blogosphere. Interestingly enough, his hotel happens to be located about 15 minutes away from Muscat Hills, the resort where the DJ had been vacationing. Most recently, the DJ (real name Tim Bergling) was spotted in good spirits by fellow vacation goers on-site of the venue. Autopsies were performed on his body on Friday and Saturday, and led to the conclusion that "there is no criminal suspicion in the death."

According to reports in Avicii's native land of Sweden, he had checked out of Muscat Hills last week. It's believed that David is looking into details surrounding his brother and the small group of friends that he was with around the days leading up to his death. "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," his publicist Diana Baron said in a statement on Friday. "He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."
