Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield used a new approach to dealing with paparazzi while lunching in Manhattan.
After noticing a group of photographers outside the restaurant they were at, the on- and off-screen couple saw an opportunity to draw attention to matters they find more important. Instead of showing their faces for the paparazzi to snap a shot, the Spider-man duo hid behind handwritten notes that promoted their favorite charities.

“Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside, so we thought let’s try this again,” said Emma’s note. “We don’t need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do.”
Garfield’s note listed the websites of Youth Mentoring, Autism Speaks, Worldwide Orphans, and Gilda’s Club NYC.

“Here’s to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!” the Social Network actor’s note concluded.
This isn’t the first time the couple has used this tactic to avoid paparazzi. Stone and Garfield held up similar signs while in New York in September 2012.
