Madison is finally getting it's Central Park!

After 40 years in the making, the park, located on the east side, will officially open for your enjoyment on June 18 after a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

According to a Capital Times article, it says the new urban-oasis has "been part of the city's vision since the early 1970s, and the subject of a planning task force since 2007."

The green space includes a Great Lawn, a pedestrian plaza, amphitheater, a multi-use pavilion, community gardens, playground and a skate park.

The park is located alongside East Wilson Street and a "bike boulevard" to the south, and East Main Street to the north.
