Kraft Foods has issued a recall of its fan-favorite Velveeta cheese in 12 different states.
The cheese is lacking the sufficient amount of preservatives. Low levels of sorbic acid has led to the recall of around 260 cases of Velveeta cheese's original pasteurized recipe because it could spoil prematurely or cause food-borne illness.
Kraft said that the 260 cases originally went to three Walmart distribution centers which were then sent to as many as 12 states including:
To check and see if your Velveeta cheese has been affected, the company says to look for the package code 021000611614. If your Velveeta has that code, do not eat it.
