40-foot sinkhole eats 8 Corvettes at museum

(NEWSER) – A 40-foot sinkhole opened up under the National Corvette Museum's Sky Dome this morning, swallowing eight cars. The sinkhole opened sometime before 5:30am, cutting off power to the landmark in Bowling Green, Ky., by 5:39am, the Courier-Journal reports. That set off a fire alarm, but when emergency crews arrived, they found the sinkhole instead. No one was injured in the incident.
